A supportive, culture-rich homeschool experience—designed for Ugandan families in Boston

At UBHI, we’re committed to equipping Ugandan homeschooling families with the tools, support, and cultural foundation they need to thrive. Our programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs of parents and children, from curriculum guidance to cultural education and community connection.

🎓 Homeschooling Resources & Curriculum Support

We offer guidance in selecting age-appropriate, culturally relevant curriculum for families new to homeschooling or seeking alternatives to mainstream content. Our support includes:

  • Personalized consultations on curriculum planning
  • Access to sample lesson plans and resource libraries
  • Recommendations for Afrocentric and faith-based learning materials
  • Information on where to purchase or download affordable, high-quality content

🌍 Cultural Heritage Education

We believe that learning should reflect and celebrate our Ugandan identity. Our cultural education programs help children stay connected to their roots while growing up in the diaspora. Programs include:

  • Language classes (Luganda and other Ugandan languages)
  • Storytelling and oral history sessions with elders
  • Traditional music, dance, and art workshops
  • Ugandan history and civics from a culturally affirming perspective

🧠 Workshops & Parent Training

UBHI regularly hosts educational workshops for parents and caregivers covering key topics such as:

  • Getting started with homeschooling in Massachusetts
  • Legal requirements and documentation
  • Teaching strategies for different learning styles
  • Time management and scheduling tips
  • Navigating standardized testing and evaluation options

These sessions are led by experienced homeschoolers, educators, and legal advocates, ensuring parents feel empowered and informed.
